Confirmation

At Baptism, parents promise
to teach and encourage the faith formation of their child. Confirmation is a
process to prepare middle-school youth to affirm their Baptism, where the
responsibility to participate in life-long faith formation moves from the
parents to the youth. Faith is a gift from God and we are led to live our faith
by the Holy Spirit. Confirmation seeks to inform confirmands about
God's Word, and provide theological education that includes a in-depth study of
the 10 Commandments, the Lord's Prayer, the Apostle's Creed, and the Sacraments
on Baptism and Holy Communion. Confirmation classes are held every Sunday morning
from 9:45a.m. - 10:45a.m. Confirmands are also expected to participate in areas
of worship and service, as well as attend a week of confirmation camp in the
summer.
