God brings meaning to one's hopes and dreams and direction to one's life. |
SHARE |
Our vision includes us, as disciples of Chirst, living together in obedience to Jesus' command to love God and neighbor (Matthew 22.37-40), and his commission to go make disciples in his (Matthew 28.19-20). As we gather for worship, learning and caring fellowship, we grow closer to Christ and are Spirit-filled to share Christ with our community through witness and service. We believe that as a family of faith, we are called to be Christ to this community.

SERVE |
Being Christ for others means being servants. To serve is to love. Christ calls us to love one another as he loves us (John 13:43-35) and to care for "the least of these" as if caring for him (Matthew 25:34-39). We see Community Lutheran Church as a faith community rich in love, both for our members and those around us. We envision ourselves actively involved in hands-on ministry using a variety of creative ways including our use of time, talents, money, the availability of our space, and working together with other groups and churches. We also see lives touched and changed as people experience Christ's love through us.

STRENGTHEN |
None of this will be possible without faith in God. It is the Spirit who gives us the power to trust God and risk living Christ-like lives in a faithless world. Jesus said "apart from me you can do nothing" (John 15:5). God gives us many gifts to strengthen faith: the Bible, worship, prayer, our stewardship, and our brothers and sisters. We see Community Lutheran Church as a body of believers hungry for God and willing to use the gifts and discipline that strengthen faith. We also envision a community that is being strengthened as we SHARE Christ and SERVE others because we are being made strong through a renewed faith in God.
