Women of the Community

The Women of
Community, or WOC, meet the third Tuesday of each month, at 10:00 in the morning,
for Bible study and fellowship. Although
we usually meet at the church, we do occasionally meet at someone’s home. We also gather on the first Tuesday of each
month to clean the church and, on the last Tuesday, to plan our future studies
and ministries. Our ministries include a
birthday party in November for residents of Countryside Manor, food collection
for Good Samaritan Ministries of
Stokesdale, participating in the Backpack Ministry of Oak Ridge, Summerfield
and Stokesdale, a yard sale in the spring, financial assistance for Emmanuel, a
student in Rwanda, as well as many other mission support ministries. Proceeds from the spring yard sale are
equally divided between the Good Samaritan Ministries of Stokesdale and the
Backpack Ministry of Oak Ridge, Summerfield and Stokesdale, both of which work
to alleviate hunger. We also have
shared summer day retreats at Belews Lake, birthday celebrations, and luncheons
at Christmas. All women are invited to
join us in our studies, ministries and fellowship.
