Youth
Community Lutheran Church seeks to integrate children and youth in
all areas of our church family. Youth and children participation in worship,
fellowship, and service is welcomed and encouraged by all. Children and youth
serve meals to the homeless, help with local and international charities, and
serve as acolytes, readers, musicians, ushers, and communion assistants during
worship.
The youth of CLC are also active in the larger ELCA synod. Every year, youth attend the Lutheran Youth Organization assembly in Greensboro, N.C. LYO is a wonderful weekend for youth to connect with their peers from other congregations and spend time in study and fellowship. The weekend is planned and led by youth, and is an event that all youth look forward to each year.
Youth spend time in study in their own space on Sunday mornings. We also plan special outings during weekends and school breaks. Youth also attend a week of camp during their confirmation time.
